On November 14th, LabToMarket was present at the official launch of the Lisbon Health Hub, the fifth hub of Unicorn Factory Lisbon and the first fully dedicated to health innovation. The initiative has been actively supported and developed together with Unicorn Factory Lisbon and the Lisbon City Hall, reinforcing Lisbon’s ambition to become a leading European hub for health and life sciences innovation.
Located at Rossio, the Lisbon Health Hub has the capacity to host up to 300 people, including startups, entrepreneurs, and innovation teams. The Hub aims to accelerate the development of technological solutions that improve the future of healthcare, with a strong focus on longevity, access to care, and health system sustainability.
The Hub results from a strategic partnership between the municipality and key ecosystem players, including AstraZeneca, Linde Saúde, the European Longevity Hub, CUF, and the Sítio network. In addition to startups and corporates, the initiative brings together academic institutions such as Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Universidade NOVA, as well as sector organizations like the Associação Nacional de Farmácias, fostering a truly multidisciplinary health innovation ecosystem.
During the launch event, Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon, highlighted the city’s growth strategy for innovation hubs, emphasizing that it goes beyond decentralization across areas such as Alvalade, Saldanha, or Beato. Instead, the strategy focuses on investing in areas where Lisbon can be globally competitive, bringing together real talent and high-quality companies in strategic sectors, with health being a clear priority.
LabToMarket’s involvement in the Lisbon Health Hub reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting ecosystem-level initiatives that connect innovation, healthcare stakeholders, and real-world impact.
