During the month of November, LabToMarket was the promoter of the Board Meeting Simulation Program, an initiative integrated into the EIT Health InnoStars Awards – Investment Track, designed to prepare health startups for high-level strategic and investment discussions.

The program successfully matched 20 global health startups with a dedicated investor from a group of 15 global experienced venture capital firms, creating a safe and realistic environment to simulate board meetings and investor interactions. Participating VCs brought deep expertise across healthtech domains, including medtech, biotech, digital health, regulatory strategy, and market access, and were carefully matchmaked with startups that showed the strongest fit in terms of needs, maturity, and strategic challenges.

This initiative was created to address a clear gap in the market: early-stage startups raising capital for the first time are often not fully prepared to engage with investors. Common challenges include missing or incomplete documentation, limited understanding of governance requirements, unclear company structures, and lack of readiness for long-term investor relationships. The Board Meeting Simulation provided a structured setting to surface and address these gaps before real fundraising discussions.

Through this hands-on experience, startups strengthened their understanding of governance, strategic decision-making, and investor communication, while investors engaged with high-potential ventures from across Europe in a meaningful and value-driven way.

“I’ve had many mentoring sessions throughout different programs we’ve been part of. Very few times have I received advice as valuable and actionable as this“, said a founder of one participating startups.

The program reinforced LabToMarket’s role in connecting innovation with capital and accelerating investment readiness across the European health innovation ecosystem.
